No-Repentance-Faith Debunked. Please explain 1Pet.3:21 “…The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:…” Please explain how Jesus can be the Way if you do not follow Him through baptism. Mark.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. What FWBC is advocating is that Christians can be saved without the Holy Spirit and on a contractual bases for which the Bible does not support. In effect they refuse baptism, the cross, the Holy Spirit thinking that they are in contract when the Bible clearly teaches that they are not. The gift of the Holy Spirit is Faith. It is not a gift of Man. Even the devils believe that Jesus can damn them or save them. I personally lived this optional-cross Christian life for 9 years. The cross is not optional, if you do not have baptism (Romans 6) then you are not saved. 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him …” Galatians 3:27 “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
If you do not have Christ, if you have not put on Christ, if you do not have the Holy Spirit, then you are like the Christians Steven Anderson is talking about. But if you have Christ you will do the works of Christ. Col. 2:11-12 “In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body [b]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” In Salvation it is not without the means of the Holy Spirit.
